Mercy and Kathleen certainly hoped their story would have a happily ever after. They were sweet six teen and the best of friends when they fell in love with the young men they wanted to marry. A lavish double wedding, life amid the caring- from the outside looking in, they did appear to live charmed lives. Based on true events, this saga follows the tears and joys of a New York City family from the 1950's to the present. From the expected to the unthinkable, it is as honest about its conflicts as it is about the power of acceptance, forgiveness and love.

My emotions were on a roller coaster of joy, sadness - even mixed feelings of anger when you get deeper into the story line. Lila has a way of intriguing us into the feelings of love surrounding a family unit. Everything we feel that is so common in our family ventures but dare not speak of are revealed in this book. Thanks Lila for KEEPING IT REAL. Love conquers.

Amazing read. Perception is Reality. It takes courage to unmask feelings of love. Everyone can relate to this family story because "a peaceful atmosphere is important."
"Beautiful things happen in one's life and such events are pleasant; however, it's sad when it changes back to the dark side." This time around, "love wins" because you learn a lesson that "finding the good in someone is not unheard of and the results are deeply rewarded."
When you care, you are empowering and fully embracing love. May we all embrace our family members with warm, heartfelt love.
This author is new but her lessons unlock our own history. This book is a must read that will transform the way you look at people: forgive, accept, and love them.
