I have the spirit of a goddess and the heart of a queen. I can inspire by expressing my real truths and my whimsy dreams.
Deedra Lavon learned very early how powerful words could be. She started writing her thoughts and feelings at the age of nine, graduating to stories at the age of thirteen. It was during her attendance at the Art Institute of Atlanta, however, that she discovered her voice. During this time she began researching historical African figures in ancient times, gravitating towards those that inspired her imagination.
“When I write, my purpose is to illuminate a deeper and much more vulnerable side of myself through my characters along with telling their stories. As I continue to grow and learn, so will my characters. My hope is that those who take interest in what I write are able to experience the beauty of intelligence, the wonders of the universe, the unification of family, the strength of true love and the whimsical nature of the freedom to be.”
