Kirsten Brown, Esq., began her professional life as a teacher in both public and private schools. She then attended the University of Miami School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude with a juris doctor degree, served as managing editor of the University of Miami Law Review, and received many other awards and honors. She practiced in one of Florida’s oldest and largest law firms and was published numerous times including multiple articles on education law. After the birth of her two boys, Ms. Brown gave up the practice of law and opened a Learning Express Toys store in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She has remained involved in education by serving as a board member on the University of Florida Alumni Association Board of Directors and as secretary of the Parent Teacher Association of her sons elementary school. When her youngest son suffered from separation anxiety, she reached out to her friend, Dr. Andrew. Dr. Andrew shared the concept of the School Fairy with her. Ms. Brown then watched as her son’s fears turned to excitement. It was then that Ms. Brown suggested they turn the idea of the School Fairy into a story that could help children everywhere.
