The Hedgecock Friasko
A runner is shot by an unknown assailant while crossing a bridge in Fort Lauderdale. The injury interrupts his flight from the scandal he exposed linking a Ponzi scheme and a dirty fracking operation in California. The two detectives assigned to find the runner’s assailant are baffled by his refusal to cooperate, and their investigation is repeatedly waylaid by other bizarre crimes.
A massive hurricane bears down on South Florida and impedes the runner’s efforts to escape opposing parties in the Hedgecock Friasko who want him dead or captured. The longer he remains, the more dangerous it becomes, and the more dilemmas he must solve.
